Starting from 1st February, Roos van den Oetelaar, artistic and business director of Pop Up Cinema, will temporarily go on leave until summer.
During her absence, Merijn Bisschops, new to the team, will take on the business management. The artistic tasks will be taken over by Elke Bernards. We wish Roos a pleasant leave!
Merijn is a composer, video artist and photographer. With music and images as a basis, he consistently creates new combinations with other art disciplines such as dance and literature. He does not shy away from complex themes and navigates between the clichés and trends in contemporary composed music, video art and photography.
Since 2004, Merijn has been the artistic director of the Institute of Associations (IoA), through which he initiates his own productions. From 2006 to 2022, he alternately served as the artistic and business director of De Link, a concert organisation for new music in Tilburg. Until May, he will take on the business management of Pop Up Cinema.

Elke has been associated with Pop Up Cinema for almost four years. After her studies in Graphic Design at the St. Joost School of Art & Design, she became acquainted with cultural marketing through Maureen Prins. She started by supporting the activities of Pop Up Cinema and then further developed in this field.
Currently, Elke works as a marketer for the dance company de Stilte, Sounding Bodies and the city event Happy Bachdag. Additionally, she has supported various companies, creators and festivals over the past years. However, her great love remains film.
Until June, Elke will take on the artistic management of Pop Up Cinema.
